We absolutely love Toddler Open Gym at First Lutheran Church in Elkhorn! It’s such a wonderful, welcoming activity for little ones and their caregivers. They have 4–5 themed crafts each time, along with a sensory bin, play kitchen, mats, slides, and plenty of space for toddlers to explore and play.

One of my favorite things is that everything is contained within the gymnasium, which makes it much easier to keep an eye on little ones and gives caregivers some peace of mind. There’s also coffee for caregivers and a light snack for the kids, which is such a thoughtful touch.

About halfway through, everyone gathers for story time and snacks. It’s a great opportunity for toddlers to practice sitting and listening while still keeping the morning fun and engaging. There is also a gentle faith-based element to the program, so that’s something families may want to be aware of when deciding if it’s the right fit for them.

Toddler Open Gym takes place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 9-10:30. It’s a great mix of play, creativity, sensory activities, and social time. We’re so grateful to have such a fun and free activity for young children in the Elkhorn area.
